Editor’s Note: This page is designed as a static page updated daily. The “Today’s Session Summary” section is updated after every close from Tadawul’s market summary page, and the rest of the content remains static.
TASI is the general index for the Saudi financial market, and it measures the aggregate price direction of listed companies in the main market. If TASI rises, it means that the heavily weighted companies in the market saw their prices rise that day.

The name is an acronym for Tadawul All Share Index. The index launched in 1985 with a base value of 1,000 points, was restructured on June 30, 2008, and includes all companies listed on the main market.
The index is not calculated as a simple average of stock prices, but rather according to the free float market capitalization, i.e., shares actually available for trading, excluding restricted shares held by government entities or strategic investors. TASI is also a “capped weight” index, meaning there is a maximum limit to the weight of any single company in it, so no one company dominates its movement.
